Online: Reading From the Wisdom of Your Body Intensive BioSpiritual Online Study Course

In this eight-week in-depth study we will explore the practice of BioSpiritual Focusing.
❖ The primary text of this exploration is Rediscovering the Lost Body- Connection Within Christian Spirituality, written by Fr. Peter A. Campbell, Ph.D. and Fr. Edwin M. McMahon, Ph.D.
❖ Each session will include a presentation and group discussion, followed by Experiential BioSpiritual Focusing sessions led by experienced facilitators.
❖ Facilitators will also offer personal support and the opportunity to experience a one to one BioSpiritual Focusing session during the course.
❖ Over the course of this study, you will become more aware of the sacred story you carry in your own body and the movement of grace in your life.
❖ Due to the intensive nature of this course, numbers will be limited and are offered on a first come basis.

Our past, our present, our whole self . . . our embodied self — it is all there available to help us grow in awareness and wholeness. BioSpiritual Focusing enables us to find doorways into transformation in our relationship with God, self, and others – a growing sense of connectedness within the Whole Christ where we know ourselves gifted. While the practice begins simply with developing the gentle habit of noticing and nurturing important feelings, this experiential book study will offer an ever-deepening engagement and bring new understanding.
The Beginning Gathering and Closing Gathering will be at St. Benedict Center (9:30AM-1:00PM) – with an option for Zoom for anyone unable to come to the Center. Basic familiarity with BioSpiritual Focusing is required.
This is a Level II Program best suited for those with a basic familiarity with BioSpiritual Focusing who seek to deepen their understanding and practice – and to share the journey with others who are similarly interested.
Join Debbie Sheehan and Jane King, who are experienced spiritual directors and retreat leaders. Both are adjunct lecturers in the Creighton University Christian Spirituality Program and have been practicing and teaching Biospiritual Focusing for many years.

Online: BioSpiritual Focusing Companioning Education Program (Level III) (Now fully subscribed )
Date: February 23 – August 3, 2021
The BioSpiritual Institute is pleased to announce that it will be offering an online program designed to educate individuals who wish to improve their Focusing Companioning skills.
TheBioSpiritual Focusing Companioning Education Level III program consists of an initial “meet and greet” program followed by six, two-hour modules held on a monthly basis. The topics covered will range from basic to advanced Companioning skills, to approaches that will help focusers overcome barriers and inner critics that might be encountered in the BioSpiritual Focusing flow. There will also be a module on BioSpirituality as a spiritual practice.
In addition to the monthly Zoom sessions, there will be weekly Companioning practice between sessions as well as a resource website for further study and exploration. There will also be monthly coaching sessions with the instructors.
Because of the advanced nature of this program, class size will be restricted to eight participants.
As a Level III program, completion of Level II (i.e. Rediscovering the Lost Body Connection Book Study program) or equivalent Focusing training is a prerequisite. In addition, prior to the start of the program, an instructor will meet with each participant to complete a Biospiritual Focusing competency matrix in order to create personal learning objectives for the program.
The cost for the program is $400.00 payable to the BioSpiritual Institute. In addition, BioSpiritual Institute members can receive a 10% ($40.00) discount on this program.
The program will begin in February 23, 2021 with a short “meet and greet session” followed by monthly Zoom sessions ( 3/2, 4/6, 5/4, 6/1, 7/6, and 8/3). Biospiritual Focusing: Journeying Further
August 20 – 22, 2021 (Friday, 7:30 p.m. to Sunday after Lunch)

This weekend retreat is for those who have some familiarity with BioSpiritual Focusing and seek to further open themselves to a more profound connection with God, self, and others. Deepening this gentle, embodied practice holds the potential for transformation as well as greater awareness. If you have had a ‘taste’ of this practice, you are well aware that, while it is simple, it is grace-filled. Join us to learn more. Our time will include presentations, partnered focusing as well as prayer and reflection.

This retreat will feature a morning gathering each day with an emphasis on deepening your understanding of biospiritual focusing as well as an opportunity for one-on-one spiritual direction each afternoon. Biospiritual Focusing and Spiritual Direction
October 12 – 14, 2021 on site, followed by 5 monthly Zoom sessions
Perhaps you have been focusing for some time yourself, maybe even using it occasionally in spiritual direction. Maybe you sometimes ponder deeper questions about how BioSpiritual focusing relates to spirituality. Or perhaps you simply want to grow in this practice that you have found so helpful for yourself and others. We invite you to join us for a ‘deeper dive’ into this life-giving practice with other spiritual directors who also seek greater awareness and understanding.
This Level III program is for spiritual directors seeking to deepen their understanding of BioSpiritual focusing as well as how to help those they see for direction become more attentive to their embodied experience of God. We will begin with time together (in person) at St. Benedict Center, October 12- 5:00PM CST – October 14 – 4:00PM CST 2021 followed by five monthly 2-hr zoom sessions as well as individual sessions of partnered focusing with presenters and other participants between Zoom sessions.
