The BioSpiritual Institute is pleased to announce the appointment of Mary A. DuQuaine as its Executive Director for North America.
For over 20 years, Mary’s work in church ministry in Milwaukee and Chicago brought many opportunities to lead groups through processes of collaborative leadership. She earned a Master of Theology Degree from Catholic Theological Union as a Bernardin Scholar where she specialized in Spirituality and Ethics. She is the author of several books on liturgical catechesis and spirituality.
In addition to her experience in non-profit management Mary has a strong background in Internet Marketing and a graduate certificate in Instructional Design, she is also a Certified Professional in Learning and Performance, CPLP, from the Association for Talent Development.
Mary is currently a Focusing Trainer-in-Training with The International Focusing Institute and has also attended training in Focusing Oriented Therapy, Wholebody Focusing, Domain Focusing, and BioSpiritual Focusing.
With her experience in directing spiritual programs and building community, both in-person, and online, Mary is honored to help advance the mission of the BioSpiritual Institute to: “Create and maintain a network of local grassroots communities that enable individuals and groups to learn and practice the gifting experience of BioSpiritual Focusing.”
“In ministry, I directed education and formation programs and worked closely with adults and families, provided training for people throughout the lifespan. My work included many opportunities for pastoral care. Over the years, I came to understand the importance of offering personal presence and healing listening. People respond when their voice is heard. Having the space to be able to talk about life’s joys and challenges is an essential part of the growth process. BioSpiritual Focusing honors the dignity of the body in one’s spiritual experience. The practice of BioSpiritual Focusing helps us to develop a deeper connection to the felt-sense, and to recognize the heart-felt beauty of God’s presence in our lives.” – Mary A. DuQuaine
